Word of the President
I am very happy to present to you the new and improved Website of the Canadian Canon Law Society. We are continuing to work on making this a more reliable and useful tool for all our members and those who are interested in Canon Law.
Your Executive has been working on the program of the next convention of the CCLS which will be held in Charlottetown, PEI, October 20-23 of this year. The program is now firm. All the speakers have accepted our request to participate in this venture. The program will be communicated to you once we have received the title of each presentation.
We looking forward to welcoming each and every one of you to the Cradle of Confederation and the beautiful capital city of Charlottetown. 2014 marks the 150th anniversary of the 1864 Charlottetown Conference, the meeting that paved the way to confederation, and the 185th anniversary of the founding of the diocese of Charlottetown in 1829.
In June, our members will receive a hard copy of the information regarding our Convention and an invitation to propose members to replace those who have served the Executive and whose mandates have come to an end. We will gladly receive any suggestion for the Jean Thorn Award of Merit.
Wishing you a healthy and joyful spring season.
Mr. Robert Lariviere
